Renowned poet Dr. Akash Ansari (December 25, 1956—February 15, 2025) has passed away in Hyderabad. Reports indicate that the room where he was staying was set on fire. His son and driver, who were also in the house, attempted to save him. His son, in particular, tried to protect his father from the flames and sustained injuries in the process.
His family has demanded a thorough investigation into the fire incident and a post-mortem examination of his body.
Dr. Akash was born in Badin district. He was imprisoned during the rule of former dictator Zia-ul-Haq for his revolutionary poetry. News of his passing has deeply saddened people across the province.
