Hindu girl Haseena Oad, 14, was abducted and converted to Islam from Umarkot, Sindh. The girl was abducted at Pir Sarhandi shrine in May 2023; she was abducted at gunpoint from her house.
“I am warned if I continue raising my voice, it will harm my life as well as my family,” the girl’s father said; “Now, I want to leave my village (Umarkot) as there is no use in living here.”
The girl’s father spoke to The Rise News, saying that some people broke into his house, kidnapped a girl, and stole jewelry and money. He has seven children and Haseena is the last child.

Father’s video was circulated on Social Media in which his shirt was torn and sobbing that his daughter was abducted after his protest, the police promised to return his daughter. Nevertheless, the police backed out of recovering the girl.
The local police are supporting abductors, and do not help the victim’s family recover their daughter. The court and local police everyone support perpetrators and the victim’s family is ineffective and avoids taking risks.
The girl’s father is threatened not to raise his voice; otherwise, he would face consequences.
“I am warned if I continue raising my voice, it will harm my life as well as my family,” the girl’s father said; “Now, I want to leave my village (Umarkot) as there is no use in living here.”
He says poor people’s voices go unheard, whatever they struggle for their protection their efforts do not amount to much.
The case’s hearing will be in August to that time the girl will stay at a shrine where her religion was converted to Islam.
