Karachi: Age-old Shree Marie Mata Temple was torn down in Soldier Bazaar, Karachi.
A video garnered criticism on Social Media in which showed that a bulldozer was bulldozing the building and temple on Saturday, July 15, 2023. After criticism, the government took notice of the incident and then Karachi Mayor, Murtaza Wahab tweeted that “the Mandir is still intact.”
There are many suspicions about Shree Marie Mata Temple whether it was age-old. In Soldier Bazaar, Hindu Madrasi Community has lived for almost 100 years, probably ever since Shree Marie Mata Temple existed.
Nonetheless, Hindu councils hardly have information about the temple.
Rekha Heera Lal is said to have sold the temple land to builders. Rekha spoke to The Rise News who denied all allegations and said that her family lived in Kachhi Abadi and wanted to build a new house. If someone had proof regarding selling the land to the builder, should show it. Two Men from Muslim Community intended to encroach on her land, she alleged.
Ravi Dawani, Hindu Panchayat President was disappointed over the news of demolishing the Temple in Soldier Bazaar. Regardless of what the age of Temple should not have been ruined.
He said that his sources claimed two months ago, Idols were shifted to a different place and then the temple was razed to the ground. Further added, demanding: there should be a thorough investigation, which should state the truth about Temple and what actually happened.
