Human Rights violations cases have been reported – some get resolved, and some do not get. Recently, Sindh government has established “Complaint Cell” which works 24/7.
Citizens can file complain by one phone call 0800-00011.
Jai Parkash Moorani, is senior journalist and Human Rights activist appreciates an initiative by government and saying that “Our citizens are habitual to complain local influential person or lord – we do not go to police station for minor issue because we resolve them through traditional practice.” Sindh Complaint Cell will definitely change our traditional practices of complaints.
Veerji Kohli, special assistance to Chief Minister of Sindh for Human Rights department and advocate, seen speaking in a video that his department has established Sindh complaint cell 24/7, citizens have easy access to file a complaint of Human Rights violation. People avoid going to police station or their complaints are not taken, seriously.
Now, Complaint Cell will help people in order to resolve issues.
We receive complaints 20 to 30 each day. Complaint cell does not only file a complaint but we follow up the complaint, says Veerji Kohli.
“Government should reach out to local people who face issues, this initiative will make a change if local people have access to it,” said Jai Parkash Moorani.
“In Nagarparkar – some companies are working their construction has created deep digs due to deep digs, citizens are having difficulties,” said Veerji Kohli.
Complaint Cell took notice of issue, written a letter to companies if they do not fill deep digs up, their lease agreement will be cancelled.
He further said, complaint center had built pressure on officials to resolve issue. Citizens in Sindh should cooperate to reach out to local people.
“Our complaint cell will make a difference and people will realize that their complaints are to be heard,” says Veerji Kohli.
