The recent flood and heavy rains brought unprecedented loss and damage in Sindh, Balochistan, and across Pakistan.
In such worst conditions, more vulnerable are women and children who need health facilities. Affectees are reported not to have proper food neither have medical facilities across Sindh province.
According to Sindh Health Department: 9,859 pregnant women are in camps in the province; of them, 3,769 deliveries are conducted, and in the last 24 hours, 13 deliveries were conducted.
United Nations Population Funds (UNFPA) reports: “more than 1.6 million women of reproductive age, with nearly 130,000 pregnant women in need of urgent health services. More than 42,000 women are due to give birth in the next three months – in the throes of the crisis.”

It further added that “over 1,400 health facilities have been damaged or destroyed across Balochistan and Sindh provinces,” which caused more trouble for pregnant women.
Flood-stricken people are in dire need of humanitarian assistance, and pregnant women need immediate assistance to protect their lives.
