“Lawyers neither help nor do authorities provide any kind of support for the case,” says Pooja’s father with disappointment.
He spoke to The Rise News that he had been contacting his lawyers to pursue the case, but the lawyers did not respond to his calls. Meanwhile, he is pressurized to arrive at a compromise. However, he has refused to accept a settlement over the brutal killing of his daughter.
Further added that he had left Sukkur and moved to Chak, a town because of pressure and lack of security. His criticism of the province’s ruling party has not contacted nor helped him.
18-year-old Pooja Kumari was murdered on March 21, 2022, in Rohri, Sukkur. Wahid Bux Lashari, along with two accomplices opened fire on her. He wanted her to convert to Islam and marry him but she refused it.
Then the opposition parties opposed her killing and made a demand for justice. Moreover, Sindh High Court took notice of the murder. Since March, Pooja’s case has been unresolved.
“I do not want to compromise on the murder of my daughter at the same time nor put my other children’s lives at risk,” the girl’s father asks, “I urge the Sindh government to help us.”
