Pilgrims at Taftan, border showed healthcare system in the country. Pakistan government did not examine pilgrims properly, and then coronavirus cases got increased in Sindh and across Pakistan.
Now, Pakistan has confirmed 1331 coronavirus cases – Sindh and Punjab have more cases than other provinces. Nine people died from coronavirus in country.
Thus, Sindh province took preventive measures to limit the spread of coronavirus.
In Pakistan, healthcare system is poor – indeed – the state still struggles to convince people for polio vaccine. Last year, Sindh was reported to have HIV cases. Meanwhile, Sindh government has improved healthcare system. Sindh has 473 hospitals than other provinces in Pakistan.
Province still needs good healthcare – for instance, many children were bitten by dogs and Sindh government did not have rabies vaccine.
In this case Sindh is not alone – Pakistan has health crisis and in such condition how Pakistan fights against coronavirus when developed countries are running out of health equipment – especially, question raises at Sindh that how a province can fight against coronavirus pandemic that has a populated capital Karachi.
People do not take serious orders of CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah. Some sources claim that there are many unreported cases.
“You have numbers of coronavirus cases those who traveled abroad or got sickened otherwise government has not screened locals,” Dr. Nirdosh says people who may not develop symptoms – can become ill.” It is necessary government asks citizens get tested.
Government does not have ventilators, nor does have screening tools. Dr. Nirdosh said, Doctors have no training how to test as this is new virus and our doctors are not aware of it. While, emergency medicine physicians are in the process to develop screening tools to triage patients adequately.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto said that Sindh government would increase testing kits.
“This is global crisis and Sindh government has managed to improve healthcare system to fight against coronavirus,” said Dr. Faisal Mahmood.
Sindh has step up 10,000 bed-isolation at Karachi’s Expo Centre, and more isolation wards have been established in Hyderabad, Sukkur and Khairpur.
In case, coronavirus cases pile up in metropolitan city or other small cities across provinces. It seems that a province cannot tackle a situation.
“To be honest, we are not prepared for it. Isolation wards are not exactly Isolation wards that cannot help us cure people who are critically ill,” Dr. Nirdosh criticized at healthcare system of the country.
